A tornado warning has been issued for Liberty and McIntosh counties until 9:45 a.m.

Hurricane Idalia is now a CAT-1 storm. It is moving quicker than expected. Thus, its looking to be more of a wind threat than a rain threat currently. However, we'll look for coastal flooding during high tide.

2 p.m. advisory has Hurricane Idalia down to 75 mph wind and still moving NE at 20 mph. The center is just north of Waycross or about 100 miles southwest of Savannah.

#FirstAlertWeather: 5 p.m. advisory says Idalia now a tropical storm with 70 mph peak winds. The worst of the storm is occurring now with heavy rain and strong winds. Conditions improve quickly overnight as Idalia moves away from the area.
